Heading to the Jersey shore you say? The sun, the fun, the sea, the surf! Flip-flops, bikinis and barbecues...but wait! You need something to read. Well don't worry my gnarly wave-riding friends, Dawn of the eBay Deadbeats is now available at Atlantic Books.
Whoa, surf's up!

Looking for trouble, Mac?I just finished a triple shot of Mickey Spillaine's Mike Hammer novels. "I, the Jury," "My Gun is Quick," and "Vengeance is Mine!" Eye-poppingly extreme, Hammer is way over the edge. He kicks groins, busts teeth, and cracks skulls all in the name of solving the case--and that's when he's being nice. Like Hammer's later incarnation, James Bond, the women love him, but you never know whose side they're really on.
Makes me want to yank the brim of my fedora down low, slip the oiled .45 into its worn leather holster, grab the arm of a hip-swinging dame, and hit the shadowy streets of New York to unleash my own definition of justice. Oh yeah, and this time it would be personal.
Ah, but these days a HERCULES team would take down such a 1940's throwback in about three seconds. { 6:58 AM }

Today is the one day out of the year I have something in common with Nicole Kidman. { 6:22 PM }

Cape Cod bay at low tide. One of my favorite places in the world. Ankle-high water as far as the eye can see teeming with baitfish, hermit crabs, clams, and the occasional driftwood. Yet just six hours after this photo is taken, the water is over your head just a few yards off the beach. And the moon's been doing that to this particular stretch of water every day for a few hundred thousand years.

I didn't plan on tackling it until a woman approached me with an available FastPass and a foggy excuse as to why she was chickening out. "Would I like to ride?" she asked. There was only one answer from this adventure seeker. Needless to say six minutes later I was taking on Everest--and the Yeti--and sure enough I lived to tell the tale. But enough about me. Do you dare? { 8:40 PM }
I'm humbled because my niece used the book as a topic for her college law class. And she got a "B" which is fine by me (because I'm sure there were other books she could have chosen that might have scored her an "A.") But a wise person once told me, "write for the masses, not for the classes." { 6:42 PM }
Tattoo you, but not me. I had a close call in Key West, but it looks like I'm turning out to be one of the unique ones. { 6:33 PM }
